Arts and Humanities Research Ethics Committee

AHREC reviews research involving people in philosophy, the arts and humanities, and law.

Terms of reference

The Committee considers applications for full ethical review from members of the Faculties of Philosophy, Arts and Humanities, and Law; considers amendments to projects it has approved; receives reports of projects approved by faculty ethics leads; and reports each year to the Research Committee of Senate. It may approve, approve with conditions, defer or decline an application. Decisions are by consensus where possible, and otherwise by a majority of members present.
