Website terms

These terms apply to your use of oxenfurt.uk. Please read them before using the website. By using it you accept them.

1. Who we are

This website is provided by Oxenfurt Academy, trading as Oxenfurt University, a corporation established by Royal Charter and an exempt charity, of The Old Schools, Bellhouse Lane, Oxenfurt OF1 3DH. In these terms, “we” and “the University” mean Oxenfurt Academy.

2. Using the website

You may use the website for any lawful purpose. You must not use it in a way that could damage it, interrupt or overload it, or interfere with anyone else’s use of it; try to gain access to any part of it, or to any system connected to it, that you are not authorised to use; or introduce viruses or other harmful material. Automated collection of large amounts of content is permitted only at a rate that does not affect the service, and with an identifying user agent.

3. Members’ services

Some pages, including the Committee Papers Service, are provided for members of University committees and are not intended for anyone else. Access is given by the Secretary of each committee. You must not use another person’s account, share your own, or attempt to read papers you have not been given access to. Unauthorised access to computer material may be an offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. Papers in the Service are confidential, and their inclusion there does not mean that the University has published them.

4. Copyright and licence

The text, drawings, maps, documents and design of this website are the copyright of Oxenfurt Academy unless stated otherwise. You may view, print and save pages for your own private study or research, and quote short extracts with acknowledgement of the source. News stories may be reproduced in full by the media with acknowledgement. Drawings and maps may not be reproduced without written permission from the Communications Office.

5. The University’s name and arms

The name Oxenfurt University, the University’s arms and its other marks may not be used in a way that suggests the University endorses, sponsors or is connected with any product, service, organisation or event without its written permission. See also the trading name notice.

6. Information on the website

We take care to make the website accurate and up to date, but it is provided for general information only and does not constitute advice. Information about courses, modules, fees, entry requirements and services may change. If you apply to the University, the terms of any offer we make, the University’s student contract and its regulations take precedence over anything on this website.

7. Links

We link to other websites where they may be useful. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. A link does not mean that we endorse the website or its owner. You may link to any public page of this website, provided you do so fairly and do not suggest any connection with or endorsement by the University that does not exist.

8. Availability

We do not guarantee that the website, or any part of it, will always be available or free of errors. We may suspend, withdraw or change any part of it without notice, for example for maintenance.

9. Our liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the website or from reliance on its content, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise.

10. Freedom of information and reuse

Much of the information on this website is published under the University’s publication scheme. Requests for information we have not published may be made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000; see freedom of information.

11. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms at any time by changing this page. The date at the top shows when they were last changed.

12. Law and jurisdiction

These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the website, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom you may also bring proceedings in your home courts.
