The Oxenfurt Philosophical Review, published by the University Press since 1940, has moved to open access. From volume 84, which appears this year, every article will be free to read online when it is published. Authors will not be charged. The cost will be met by the Faculty of Philosophy and the Press.
Professor Simon Leggatt, the Review’s editor, said that the change honoured the journal’s founding statement that it would “publish philosophy for anyone who can read it”. The back volumes from 1940 to 2022 will be made free to read over the next two years.
